Here’s a shot of my kitchen. It’s not finished (no shelves in the cupboards yet) They promise me I’ll get them soon.
My living room. How about my TV. Just a little shameless promotion for my favorite station in Cleveland.

Time To Relax

After going just slightly less than crazy trying to get my new apartment in order, I’m taking today off. The laundry, the dishes and the trash can wait until tomorrow.

Today is a day that’s all about kickin’ back and loungin’ a little. I may take some pictures of the place and post them later today if I feel up to it. 🙂

So far, I have to admit I’m loving living downtown. The drive back and forth to work is so quick. I love Steelyard Commons for my Target and Wal-Mart needs. I just went to the Westside Market for the first time in my life last week and it looks like a great place. I can’t wait to explore it more.

Happy New Year and here’s to a rest filled day!

Reflection

It’s that time of year when people look back at the past 12 months and reflect on what they’ve brought them.

2007 brought me so much. Most recently, I have a new nephew that I’m so proud of. I got a lot of “holding” time with him on Christmas Eve at my sister’s house.

I got to take the trip of a lifetime, however I hope that I’ll again get to visit Europe again. I visited Holland, Switzerland and France.

I got promoted to Executive Producer at my job.

The Cavs, Indians, Buckeyes all went to the playoffs and even farther. Now, let’s just cross our fingers for the Browns.

I got to see Barenaked Ladies and The Police in concert.

We completed a move for me downtown to a great apartment. No longer will I have to drive back and forth to Avon Lake. My trips to and from work will be less than 10 minutes.

I once again realize how great my friends and my family are and how lucky I am to have them.

Take a look into the mirror and reflect back on the past year for yourself. What did you experience?

Hopefully, you’ll come to the same conclusion as I did… I got it pretty good and thank God for his blessings.

Happy Christmas!!

This year, I didn’t repost the “Happy Christmas” message but first, I want to wish everyone the very happiest Christmas and the best in the coming year.

I sit in my new downtown apartment getting the place together this Christmas afternoon. I’m happily doing so after a day on the road yesterday.

I went to my aunt & uncle’s home in Wayne County to celebrate the holiday with my mother’s family.

My friend, Katie, also invited me to her family’s gathering for their friends. Her place is in Cuyahoga County. I enjoyed meeting her parents’ friends and getting to see her sister, brother-in-law and their two daughters.

Next, it was off to Summit County to my sister’s house for our immediate family’s present opening. I arrived around 9:30pm and after everything was said and done, I came back to my apartment to spend the night at my new place around 1:45am.

Again, I hope your Christmas is the best ever and don’t forget the true reason for the holiday.

A Dumbbell

I’m not talking about a weight either…  well, I sort of am.  This morning, I tripped over a 30 pound dumbbell while unpacking and fell into a door leaving a nice nickel size bruise on my face.  It’s not pretty.  I can’t believe it did it.  Don’t laugh when you see me next.  I can’t believe I did it.  Nice for the Christmas pictures but there is always Photoshop.

Final Thoughts…

Well, it’s been a long time coming, here I sit on my couch watching Game Show Network thinking about the move and all of the work I’ve accomplished in the past two week preparing for the move downtown.

Almost everything is packed up. Tomorrow, I get to take down my workout machine, that’s always fun. I’m going to some pre-moving and I guess I should find out more about when I’m picking up the U-Haul for the move.

Wish me luck and by the way, I’ll still take any helpers! 🙂

Missing Your Favorite Shows Yet?

I am! No more good laughs on Monday nights on CBS. No more “Heroes” on NBC.

We’re hearing lines like “The season finale of…” and not “On an all new…” You’ll soon start feeling the effects of the Hollywood Writers’ Strike. Be prepared for more reality shows and shows you thought were on hiatus to pop back on the screen.

Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien are going back to work next month. They’ve been shuttered by the strike. Both sides reportedly aren’t any closer to a deal. The strike is having a trickle down effect on small businesses who count on Hollywood for their livelihoods.

What can you do about it? Probably nothing just sit back and enjoy the quality TV you’ll see on the tube while the writers walk the picket line.

Vacation?

I managed to take a lot of my vacation this month. I didn’t realize how much I would actually need it when I asked for it off. I’m just about finished getting my place ready for the move east to downtown Cleveland. Things are boxed up and only the essentials are accessible.

It’s my Christmas present to myself. It feels a lot like December 20th will be the big day for me. I’ll end up at Target that evening getting a TV stand and maybe a couple other things but it’s like that day can’t come soon enough for me. I’ll have pictures up during the big move and of the new place here on the blog. It’s going to be great.

I had a total sports weekend. My friend, Katie, asked me to the Cavs game. They lost but the seats were great and it was great hanging out with her and my other friend, Kevin. Things worked out that we were all able to sit together. Enough said on that subject. We braved the weather getting there and didn’t have to worry too much about the drive home. Thanks Katie for the ticket!

Kevin and I braved the weather today and went to the Browns game. They WON and on any other day, they wouldn’t have been the most preferable seats in the stadium but today, they were just the right ones. We were in the upper bowl and had a roof over our heads. It sheilded us from the snow for the most part. We still got socked by the wind and some of the snow it kicked around but I can’t complain one bit. It was a great game and Phil Dawson knocked another miracle kick through the uprights. Odd score: Buffalo 0, Cleveland 8. That’s the first time that score has hit since 1929. Thanks Kevin for the ticket. It’s great hanging out with him and I’m not just saying that because he reads this blog. He’s been a great friend for more than 30 years.

The countdown to the move? 4 days
