Heroes: Episode 21

Every time I think they’ve outdone themselves, the writers of “Heroes” do it again. Let’s start where the show did with Hiro and Ando transported back to the past. Both of them know what they have to do thanks to the comic book Hiro got from “Mr. Issac”. The problem is all of the words the characters say aren’t included. Hiro’s powers help him out of a sticky encounter with Sylar but in the end discovers his sword is broken. Even so, he’s still able to transport himself and Ando. So you have to ask the question, how important is the sword to his powers?
Sylar has a big role in the episode. You find out there’s still some “good” in him. He goes back to his mother’s house to talk with her. She pushes him away after finding he has strange powers. They fight and he ends up accidentially killing her with a pair of scissors. After her death, his brain twists even more and he decides his mother was right about his chances of being President. This could play out interestingly in the future. Will there be some sort of race between Sylar and Nathan Petrelli? Sylar at one point also makes a call to Mohinder asking for his help, only to reject his assistance after hearing Mohinder calling 911.
Micah finds out Linderman kidnapped him and the person he thinks is his mother is really Candice. Niki and D.L. realize Linderman knows everything about them. Why they’re not more concerned about Micah was a little puzzling to me during last night’s episode.
We also learn about a girl named Molly who has the ability to locate anyone in the world just by thinking about them. She has a disease that Mohinder can heal because he’s carrying the antibody.
Claire and Peter go against Nathan’s wishes and set out to save the world from the bomb. Peter still doesn’t know if it’s him, Sylar or Ted who end up going nuclear. At the end of the show, Peter gets too close to Ted and starts absorbing his power. That’s where the show ends and hooks you for next week.
So this got me thinking if there was one special power that you could have what would it be? Being able to see the future interests me. But it’s something I’ll give a little more thought to first!

Scott Smith Coming To Cleveland

Okay, if you haven’t heard him in the past when he plays Flannery’s, you should save June 1st or 2nd to make it down to East 4th to hear him. Two of his best songs are “Lively” and “Parking Lot”.

If you like Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper or if you’ve heard his new CD, it’ll be two nights of great music. Many of you also know what a music buff I am so this kinda endorsement also don’t come easy. No, he’s not paying me for these words but I do feel like I should get some sort of promoter’s fee.

I’ll most likely be there on Saturday night for sure. Don’t just come for me, Scott’s great in concert, very laid back! You’ll want to sing along with his covers and learn the words to his songs. Check out his page, www.myspace.com/scottsmithmusic

The “Q’s” Shortfall?

I hope I’m going to be able to come back with better news about my brand new phone but… Microsoft is coming out with Windows Mobile 6 which has tons of improvements over Windows Mobile 5. The Moto Q comes with WM5 installed. However, all of the posts I read indicate there won’t be an upgrade to WM6 for “Q” owners. I’m very upset with this because I just got the new phone and it’s apparently not upward compatible. I hope that there’s a way out there that will allow me to have the functionality of the WM6 features. I can assure you if there isn’t Sprint will be hearing from me and we’ll find out a way to get a different phone. I was told by the representative that this was the “latest and greatest” and very popular. Hey, at least I didn’t get a RAZR, not to slam anyone with one but I’ve heard enough from everyone who owns the phone that it’s a horrible phone. So if anyone has any definitive answers, good or bad, I’d like to hear them.

The Cupboard Is Bare…

Here’s one of those thoughtless thoughts I brag about. You ever look around and realize you’ve just run out of everything. I mean no toilet paper, no laundry detergent, no milk, no eggs and just about every other little necessity? That’s what happened to me this weekend. Of course, you know that trip to Wal-Mart isn’t going to be any less than $100.00. Actually, mine was but add the subtraction power of coupons and viola, less than $100.00. I digress however, it’s become a funny phenomenon to me. I know the negative publicity Wal-Mart gets but in less than a half hour, I was in, got my stuff, handed over my money and out the door. I love America!

Pure Women Of Genius

One of my friends/co-workers is pregnant. She misses the times when she can enjoy an adult beverage. So she penned (typed) this poem, which I think is genius. Hope you too, enjoy her work.

ODE TO BEER

Oh beer, how i miss thee…
you made me feel so frisky
I miss your lovely golden hue
Hell, at this point ,a domestic would do.
You taunt me, gleaming, in that glass.
Not having you MAY drive me to kick some ass.
My constant companion, my forever friend
I hate that our love affair had to come to an end.
But like Arnold once said, I will be back
til then I’ll back off-you’re a pregnant chick’s crack.
