And June begins. I wanna begin with birthday wishes for three people. My grandmother turns 75 today. She’s a great woman who still is ready for a pick-up game of basketball and don’t even get her close to a cornhole match-up. My friend, Nolan, who’ll be spending most of his time sitting in his pool. Finally, my cousin, Dwane, who I hope is NOT working today. Happy Birthday all!!
So, tonight, we’ll be downtown at Flannery’s apparently watching the BarFlys (instead of Scott Smith) and tomorrow night, I’m planning on the Indians game and then Flannery’s watching Joe Rohan (instead of Scott Smith — no, Scott, I’m not hatin’). Sunday, Melissa and I are in a charity golfing event in Twinsburg and it’s supposed to rain. Hopefully, it won’t be when we hit the course.
My quandary, I’d love for the Cavs to win Saturday night and advance to the NBA Finals. If they do, it could affect my trip to Europe. I spent three years in Detroit so I do actually have a love for the team. Half of the players who were there back when I lived in Motown are still on the team. Of course, I’m a Clevelander by birth and heart. I’d love to see what winning it all would mean to the city. Millions of dollars for downtown hotels, restaurants and businesses and would instill some actual pride into a city that’s still riding on the Indians’ trip to the World Series and the opening of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
So it’s Go Cavs or Go Europe! I don’t want to tell you where I’m leaning!
As a native, I think I take offense you actually may like the Pistons! It’d be like me saying I might actually root for the White Sox. Bleck!
