I’m furious with Time Warner Cable right now. I planned ahead and schedule my transfer of service to my new place two weeks ago. What they failed to tell me during that conversation was your cable at your current place will be shut-off on December 14th.
I guess in their business model it’s okay for people to operate their daily lives without a utility for six days. I shouldn’t have to change my lifestyle just because I’m moving. I wanted my service turned off one place and to be turned on at another. In my mind, that’s a transfer of service.
The representative today told me he wasn’t showing an outage here and even went as far as to contact the technican who claims he didn’t turn off my service yet. Is it not a coincidence that I was scheduled to be turned-off today and my cable magically isn’t working? My neighbors still have service, I checked with them.
Here’s my advice so the same thing doesn’t happen to you. Make sure they schedule your disconnect on the same day that they schedule your re-connect. Otherwise, you’ll likely end up like me with a nice respite from cable television. Of course, you can get Internet access anywhere, right Brad? To whomever service I’m using, thank you!
Time Warner’s wait on the phone is 40 minutes to 1 hour and 1 minute at this time. I’ve scheduled a call back to see if there’s anything they can do. Of course, I’m expecting there’s nothing we can do, so I’ll just take the credit on my bill.
