Sunrise Over The Midwest

I was able to actually sleep for about 15 minutes on the flight. Luscious Jackson's "Naked Eyes" woke me up. I was jamming out Jack Johnson and that tune snuck up on me. By the way, our flight took us directly over Memphis, how fortunate. Hopefully we will land soon the man next to me has that old man smell. I hope it doesn't rub off on me. Ah, the scent of Old Spice!

Beverage Of Choice?

Jason knows the answer to this one. I don't drink caffeine and I've kicked sodas completely. I've always loved coffee but I generally even avoid decaf. The answer? Apple juice. It was the first beverage I ever had 30,000 feer in the air and it's been a taawd tradition ever since. Now that's taawd trivia!

Flight 1045

I've been on this flight before, several time while living in South Texas. I am looking forward to seeing everyone.

Why I Could Never Be On “Big Brother”

“Big Brother” housemates aren’t able to whistle or sing while on the show. It has something to do with ASCAP/BMI rights to music. I can’t get through a half hour without humming, whistling or singing some tune. I’d go absolutely crazy without being able to enjoy music.

Don’t get me wrong though, I would love to be stuck in that house with a bunch of other people trying to win $500,000.

extra note: Why I Could Never Work at Howl at the Moon — I know the words to most of the songs but I can’t play piano. Maybe they’d just make me honorary drummer for the show. It’s a fun place to hang out (which isn’t far from my place) and there’s a diverse group of people who frequent there.

Busy, Busy, Busy

The next few weekend are gonna be busy.

After hosting Jennie & Bruce last weekend, I’m playing host again this weekend. This time my Aunt Mary & Uncle Robin will be checking out Chez Taawd. I suppose I’ll have some of her co-workers up to see the place as well. One of Mary’s friends (and co-worker) won a night at Howl at the Moon. We’re also going to have dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery. (The “c” is burnt out now!) I’m sure I’ll be posting some pictures!

The following weekend is booked. I’ll fill you in on that one after it happens but it’s going to be a good time and I’m going to get to see some friends I haven’t seen for almost two and a half years.

Take Your Sister To Work Day?

My sister and her husband brought Ayden in to see NewsChannel 5. I’m sure he’ll always remember the tour of the station. They also brought their friends as well. Here they’re pictured with Ted and Danita.

Now that’s “On Your Side”

Michigan Comes To Cleveland

I’m in for a treat this weekend. Two of my favorite people (probably in the whole world… maybe) are coming to Cleveland. Bruce & Jennie are planning a trek down from the frozen tundra of Michigan to the er, frozen tundra of Cleveland.

Their visit won’t be a long one. Bruce has to work at ‘DIV on Saturday then they’re on their way down here. I have to work at ‘EWS on Sunday so we’ll have about a day to hang out but I’ll take it.

I was part of Bruce & Jennie’s wedding. I helped make the table number cards. I was in the ceremony. I helped with with music. There’s also that little problem of the suddent lack of electricity to the big tent where their reception was held. The best thing is years later, they’re still married and a happy couple.

I can’t wait to see them and to show them around Cleveland together. Bruce has been here before when I lived out in Lorain County. He was driving back from Pennsylvania in a car he bought on eBay. Jennie was here with Olive during one of her many trips to see G. Love (for her benefit, I didn’t type it like I normally say it “Glove”. Their visit was also in my Avon Lake years. This trip will be different. I’m in Cleveland and they’ll be together. It’ll be fun.

I gotta remember my camera and I’ll post some of the pictures,

Water Falling Inside Ain’t Good!

Rainy Days and Mondays… hmm, sort of!

It was Monday and sort of rainy but it wasn’t Mother Nature’s work. Nope, this would be the water coming from a malfunctioning sprinkler head that soaked my new apartment building.

The atrium looked more like the bottom of a water fall. You could see the water cascading down the different floors from the 9th floor. There was water coming from everywhere.

Now I know what happens during a fire alarm. There’s actually a little red speaker (that’s it to the left) in my apartment that actually tells me to leave. It goes a little something like this “Attention, an emergency has been reported. Please leave the building immediately. Do not take the elevator.”

It’s loud and it’s annoying. It’ll get you up and get your attention.

I hope I never hear it again!
