My Grammy Review

It was no shocker that Amy Winehouse took home big honors Sunday night winning five awards including Record of the Year. She performed in London. Initially, the U.S. denied Winehouse a visa but then on Friday reversed that decision. However, it was too late to get Winehouse over to the states for the big ceremony. She performed live and accepted Record of the year via satellite.

Kanye West also had a moment during the ceremony when he accepted a Grammy. He mentioned his mother, Donda West and said “I know you’re really proud of me right now and I know you want me to be the No. 1 artist in the world and Mama, all I’m going to do is keep making you proud. We run this.” West performed in an electrified suit and glow in the dark sunglasses.

You had to get chills twice during the ceremony when Beyonce joined Tina Turner for a rendition of “Proud Mary”. Turner can still turn it out even at 68 years old. You also have to give respect to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Frankin as she stirred the crowd during a gospel number.

Rhianna looked stunning, sporting a new haircut she continually said “looks a little boyish.” She also did a great job belting out a medley of her hits.

Good Grammy show this year,

Super Bowl Winnings

I don’t normally gamble but we had an office pool for the Super Bowl. You know the game where you pick squares and then you randomly draw numbers for each column and row. One of my squares was the Patriots 7 and the Giants 3. That was the score at the end of the 2nd quarter and the 3rd quarter.

My winnings $34 dollars. I bought 6 squares at a buck a pop!

I never win anything,

Thank You Rock Bottom!!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much for fixing the “o” in the sign that faces toward my view of the city.

I’m sure someone read my blog pleading for the repair. Of course, I know that’s not the truth.

Now my life is just a little more complete.

What Are You Doing Next Thursday?

Why not have a little fun and support a worthy charity downtown Cleveland? My friend, Luke, has been doing all sorts of concerts along with two other guys for several charities. You’ll find the following information in this post about his latest endeavour.
The Roots of American Music organization’s mission statement says “Roots of American Music is dedicated to ensuring that our diverse communities remain connected to the history and spirit of our country through preservation, performance and education using traditional American music.”
The event is at Flannery’s Pub which always has been a great place and a great neighborhood hang-out. Fun is guaranteed. Hope you can stop by!

A Dumbbell

I’m not talking about a weight either…  well, I sort of am.  This morning, I tripped over a 30 pound dumbbell while unpacking and fell into a door leaving a nice nickel size bruise on my face.  It’s not pretty.  I can’t believe it did it.  Don’t laugh when you see me next.  I can’t believe I did it.  Nice for the Christmas pictures but there is always Photoshop.
