Pure Women Of Genius

One of my friends/co-workers is pregnant. She misses the times when she can enjoy an adult beverage. So she penned (typed) this poem, which I think is genius. Hope you too, enjoy her work.

ODE TO BEER

Oh beer, how i miss thee…
you made me feel so frisky
I miss your lovely golden hue
Hell, at this point ,a domestic would do.
You taunt me, gleaming, in that glass.
Not having you MAY drive me to kick some ass.
My constant companion, my forever friend
I hate that our love affair had to come to an end.
But like Arnold once said, I will be back
til then I’ll back off-you’re a pregnant chick’s crack.

The Barenaked Ladies Are Coming…

I found out today the BNL are coming to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame city this summer. I’m excited because I missed them the last time they arrived in town. They played at CSU and there was some sort of conflict so I couldn’t go. I’m going this time, hell or highwater.

I have some catching up to do because I don’t have their last two CD’s. Bad fan, I know. I’ll download them from their site on the ‘net. Don’t worry, I’ll make up. I also have to learn the new tunes since they’ll be playing a lot of them.

If you haven’t been to a BNL concert, it’s an event. I’ve seen them at least four times. Once in Canton with a bunch of pot smokers in the crowd, once at the Taste of Cleveland (the night Princess Diana died), twice at the Gund Arena (that’s what it was called back then) All good times. I still like their old stuff from “Gordon” the best. “Hello City”, “Brian Wilson” and “If I Had $1,000,000”. I do like the “Sound Of Your Voice” from “Barenaked Ladies Are Me”. I have yet to hear the rest of the stuff. Okay, I know, bad fan! I’m going to the concert so…

Spring Fever – 100th Post!

Okay, so I really don’t have the time that I want to make this post the best that it can be even though it’s a milestone for me but here goes.

Check out the picture on the left. It signals the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring. Yes, you’ll recall that I love Winter but even more, I love the fact that I have my seasons back. In South Texas, it was three weeks of Winter and then Summer again. I didn’t care for that at all. My camera phone did a good job of capturing all of the ice on Lake Erie, yesterday. It was around 70 degrees and that’s hot (sorry, Paris Hilton).

For those of you keeping up with my project, converting all of my CD’s to mp3’s, it’s actually going well. I’m up to George Clinton in the non-oldies section. Actually, I’ve done a lot of other CD’s out of order so I’m making a bunch of progress and my iTunes says I have about 10 days worth of songs on my computer. Of course, not all of them I would listen to, but nonetheless, they are digitized on the MyBook.

The Police Come To Cleveland

Next major event, at least for now, The Police concert. My friend, Katie, wanted to get tickets to the concert when they come to Cleveland. The tickets went on pre-sale today but you had to have a Best Buy Rewards Zone card. She didn’t, I do! So I told her I’d get her a code and I scored one. She then got up today and logged on and scored tickets. It’s 16th July (that’s how it’s on their website, they’re British, you know!) I gotta get that night off work. I’m not the biggest Police fan in the world but it just rocks me off my butt that I didn’t get to see Fleetwood Mac when they went on their final tour (with Christine McVie) and I’m forever kicking myself in the ass for that one. But now, I sing “everything little thing she does is magic” with the Police once last time LIVE!
