Star Wars Marathon

At risk of being called a geek, I’m going to blog about my impromptu “Star Wars” marathon leading up to the Super Bowl.

HBO HD, had on “Star Wars: A New Hope” around noon on Sunday. I have to admit it was a movie that changed my life. I think I was just the right age at the right time to totally get sucked into the now legendary saga.

After watching Episode IV, I had to get out the DVD’s for “Empire” and
“Jedi” and watch them. It’s amazing to see how technology has progressed and just how good some of the special effects were back then.

The DVD’s were the ones where George Lucas got to “touch up” on his masterpieces with some computer graphics and animation. I don’t know what I think about that but it’s Lucas’ movie so he can do what he wants.

One thing I can say is Lucas really folded his story together from Episode I to Episode VI. From the Senator Palpatine to the Emperor, to Obi-Wan going from trainee to trainer to the rise and fall of Anakin/Darth Vader.

So I relaxed leading up to my friend’s Super Bowl Bash, which wasn’t much of a bash, four other people other than me, with the characters who I grew up with and feel like I somehow know, even though, they’re from a “long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…”

So say what you will but, “May The Force Be With You…”
